Abstract
In the last decade, a huge number of research papers have been written on the comparative analysis of various novelties of the criminal procedure code of the Russian Federation concerning the interrogation of a witness using video conferencing systems. During the pandemic, this topic is the most discussed and interesting at the moment. The reforms will allow the court of first instance to quickly consider criminal cases. The use of videoconferencing systems in criminal proceedings was intended to respect the rights of convicts who are in custody when considering criminal cases by the courts of cassation and Supervisory instances.
