Abstract

In the current article, an assessment and scientific substantiation of the use of polymers for flooding the areas of the East Zhanatalap deposit (Central and South vaults) is carried out. During the implementation of the project, foreign and domestic experience in the use of polymer flooding in order to increase oil recovery (East Moldabek, Zaburunye, North Nuraly) was considered and summarized. For the pilot area of the field, a polymer flooding program was drawn up, in which the following combination was used: injection of a high viscosity polymer rim followed by standard polymer flooding. To equalize the mobility of water and oil, a significant increase in viscosity and a decrease in water permeability are required by adding polymer to the injected water.
