INFECTIOUS KERATOCONJUNCTIVITIS (MORAXELLOSIS) CATTLE IN EAST KAZAKHSTAN
Abstract
The purpose of our work was to identify the presence of Moraxella bovis strains in the farms of East Kazakhstan. The study was carried out due to a large number of cattle that had clinical signs of infectious keratoconjunctivitis at different stages. We received samples (washings) from the affected eyes to identify the etiology of the disease. Then the obtained material was inoculated on nutrient media mesopatamia agar (MPA), mesopatamia broth (MPB), blood mesopatamia agar with 7% defibrinated ram blood, followed by identification of the causative agent of the disease. The resulting strain was used in a bioassay on white mice. Found the bacterium Moraxella bovis. A large number of flies of different species were observed in all farms; they can serve as a factor in the transmission of infection. Moraxellosis was detected mainly in young animals, aged from several weeks to a year.
