DEVELOPMENT OF A COMBINED TECHNOLOGY FOR OBTAINING THRONE AND PURIFIED SODIUM BICARBONATE
Abstract
The influence of technological parameters on the processes of obtaining sesquicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate by the gas-liquid method has been investigated.
A method for producing sesquicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate has been developed, which includes the stages of preparing a saturated solution of sodium carbonate in a mother liquor, mixing the solution with sodium bicarbonate, and then, after separating sodium sesquicarbonate, the mother liquor is carbonized to obtain sodium bicarbonate.
Soda ash was dissolved at a temperature of 95°C in the mother liquor of sodium bicarbonate. If necessary, added technical sodium bicarbonate. The resulting sesquicarbonate suspension is filtered to obtain moist sodium sesquicarbonate. The resulting mother liquor was carbonized at 90°C to a carbonation degree of 170% and cooled to 35°C; the resulting suspension was filtered; the wet cake was washed with 17% sodium bicarbonate solution, and after drying at 70°C (99%) sodium bicarbonate was obtained.
A technological scheme is proposed and the material balance of the process of obtaining sesquicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate is compiled.
Technical and economic calculations indicate the profitability of the proposed method. Savings are achieved by improving product quality and increasing the utilization of the original components.
