ACTUAL PROBLEMS OF STUDYING REGIONAL STYLES OF KAZAKH TRADITIONAL MUSIC (ON THE EXAMPLE OF KYUY)
Abstract
The article highlights the issues of stylistic diversity of regional traditions of Kazakh instrumental music (kyui). The goal is to identify the origins of this diversity for the successful study of individual author's styles of kuishi. According to the author, in the study of Kazakh musical traditions, even in the analysis of the structural laws of the language and the synchronous research method, an integrated approach is needed, which involves knowledge, study of the functional and cultural-historical context of traditions. It was the study of ethno-historical processes on the territory of Kazakhstan that allowed the author to explain the phenomenon of two regional traditions of instrumental music – shertpe (territories of the Central, northeastern, eastern and southern regions) and tokpe (the interfluve of the Volga and the Urals, the Aral Sea region and the Syr Darya, as well as the Mangystau peninsula). The article concludes about the need for further historical and cultural studies in order to study both the general history of Kazakh music and musical thinking of representatives of different regions of Kazakhstan
