CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BEST INDUSTRIAL GRADES OF GEORGIA'S FIGS AND THEIR STORAGE
Abstract
Fig is a widespread crop in Georgia. The use of this valuable raw material is limited by the fact that it quickly deteriorates. As a result of the work carried out, the following conclusions can be drawn:
figs are stored at 0 ° C for 5 to 10 days;
quick-frozen at -50 ° C and in liquid nitrogen, figs are stored at -18 ° C for up to a year. They can be usedboth fresh and for processing.
The best varieties for drying were: Kadota, Kalimirna, Chapla. Excellent dining qualities are possessed by: Kadota, Crimean black, Chumlak mtsvane.
As the most productive and highly valuable for industrial processing, we consider it expedient to widely introduce the following varieties of figs into agricultural production: Chumlaksky Mtsvane, Kadota, Kalimirna.
