MICROSEISMOZONS OF THE CAUCASIAN-CASPIAN REGION, IDENTIFIED BY THE DATA OF MONITORING OF SEISMICITY AND SEISMOGEODYNAMIC REGIME OF FLUIDS IN AZERBAIJAN (2017-2020)
Abstract
This paper reflects the results that have no analogues in the world. In Azerbaijan, in 2012, a new method was developed for the first time in the field of earthquake forecasting – “scanning seismogenic zones, based on the year-round monitoring of the seismogeodynamic regime (SFGD) in Azerbaijan”. The purpose of the these researchies are concretization the location (coordinates) of the forecasted earthquake hypocenter, based on the identification and classification of informative criteria for operational earthquake prediction for the various seismically active zones in the Caspian sea and on the territory of Azerbaijan.
The basis for this works was the " Database of the year-round monitoring of the seismogeodynamic regime in the fluids in Azerbaijan” for the period 1986-2020” and the seismological catalog for the specified time period. As a result, microseismogen zones were first identified in the previously known seismically active regions of the Caspian sea and Azerbaijan. Further, after identifying and classifying informative criteria for the operational and remote forecast of the strong earthquakes for the countries of the Anatolian-Iranian-Caucasian tectonic block and other regions of the world, we could identified there microseismic zones for the first time also.
