POSSIBLE ANALOGUES OF STUDENTS’ INDEPENDENT WORK EVALUATION AS A WAY TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN A DISTANT FORMAT
Abstract
In the article the author provides an overview of the modern structure for evaluating students’ performance, and also points out the obvious, in his opinion, drawbacks of the rating system. Based on his professional experience of teaching a foreign language in a non-linguistic university, the author attempts to analyze possible options for optimizing the system for assessing the process and results of students' independent work, being an integral component of the whole educational process.
Special attention is paid to the necessity to use educational methods, which are progressive and relevant for modern life, such as project and game activities. Using the example of organizing a separate module of the game educational process, the author offers alternative options for evaluating the preparatory independent work of students and its results, considering them more progressive, closer to the realities of life, and also meeting the requirements of modern society.
